The Paramount Chief of Bole Traditional Area, Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) has called on government once again for the upgrading of the Bole District Assembly to the status of a Municipality.

Speaking at the climax of the Damba festival of the Chiefs and people of the Bole Traditional Area, held on 8th October, 2023, Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) called on government once again for the upgrading of the Bole District Assembly to the status of a Municipality, as the Bole District is one of the most populous in the Savanna region and more than qualified in terms of the criteria in creating municipalities in Ghana.

He added that; “the current Bole district is still very vast with bigger communities like Banda Nkwanta, Tinga, Bamboi and others, hence my appeal for it to be upgraded to a Municipal status”.

Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) in his speech admonished natives of Bole, Gonjalanders,
institutional investors, private financiers, and non citizens to partner the Bole Traditional Area
to achieve development and increase the tourism potential of the Area.

According to Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I), the traditional council under his leadership is appealing to the government and other stakeholders to open up the many tourists sites in the Bole traditional area.

He said; “Let me use the opportunity to appeal to the government, sons and daughters of the Bole traditional area,as well as non citizens of the traditional area who are willing to invest to feel free and come home to heavily invest in Bole in any area of investment they so wish. as the Palace is opened and ready lo release any quantity of land for prospective investors.”

Also, Bolewura revealed to the gathering that, the National House of Chiefs through the Savannah Regional House, Bole Traditional Area has been upgraded to a traditional council status under his able leaders.

Bolewura used the opportunity to express his appreciation to the Inspector General of police, Dr Akuffo Dampars and the Police Administration for the elevation of the status of Bole district Police to a divisional headquarters.

Highlighting the numerous success and challenges facing the traditional area, Bolewura said,
notwithstanding the many success the traditional area has achieved. It is still bedeviled with some challenges including, schools not being adequate considering the fastest spreading nature of Bole , whiles in the aspect of pre-tertiary, Bole township has only one secondary school in recent times, he therefore call on the Islamic denominations to establish Secondary schools in the Bole township and by extension the traditional area to accommodate the many Junior high students produced annually.

Bolewura added, in the aspect of tertiary education, “I also appeal to the government and other stakeholders of Bole traditional area to help establish the Teacher training college been abandoned for some time.

On roads, Bolewura called on government to open up new connection of roads to meet the fastest growth of the Bole Township and its environs.

On health Bolewura said,
“it is over two years now that the Bole District Hospital mortuary which serves the entire traditional area and beyond has not been functional and not in good state.. “I Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso therefore appeal for an urgent attention in that regard”.

On sports Bolewura said,
“Our inability to compete at the national premier level is as a result of the luck of modern and good football field and we are so hopefully things will get better for us as a Traditional Area in the near future. I Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso also appeal to His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and other stakeholders of Bole traditional area, for the establishment of ultra modern sports stadium to meet the growing talents of young men and women in the Bole traditional arca.”

Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) on behalf of the traditional area thanked each and everyone for honoring his invitation to this years Bole (Kutuge Feso) Damba Festival.

Addressing the gathering at the Kutuge Feso Damba festival, His Excellency former President John Dramani Mahama revealed that, the Bolewura has provided five (5) acres of land to be used for an Astro turf park which is along the Bole to Sawla road, and consultation with experts is underway and will
soon be constructed for football and that other social activities can be done there.

He said the Bole township roads will be continued and completed as started, because the current government has abandoned and ignored them.

former President John Dramani Mahama also promised that all feeder roads in the Bole District will be constructed when he is elected again as the president of the Ghana.

He added that;
“the abandon Teacher Training college that was started by my government and abandoned by the current government would be completed.
