The Bole Community Foundation (LBG) with support from Community Development Students Association (CODSAG) of Simon Diedong Dombo University for Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) has donated text books to the Kibalma D/A primary school in the Bole District of Savannah Region on Monday, 5th June, 2023.

Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi fm, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Bole District Community Foundation LBG Mr. Emmanuel Jimah said, the main objective of the Bole District Community Foundation is to work together with Stakeholders to transform Bole and it’s environs in Health,bEducation, Sanitation and so on.

According to Mr. Emmanuel Jimah, the Bole District Community Foundation LBG has been able to secure the new curriculum text books with the suppprt of the Community Development Students Association of Ghana(CODSAG).

Mr Emmanuel Jimah indicated that, when the foundation received the text books from the students organization, the books were sent before the District Director of Education for approval and it was endorsed for student use

He added that, after the endorsement from the education Directorate, they identified some deprived schools in the district which are the Kabilma D/A primary and Junior High Schools, Dakurpe primary and Junior High Schools and Bole E/A Primary school.

Emmanuel Jimah further said, the text books in total were 206 which have been divided into three(3) parts and shared among the three school’s respectively.

He commended Mr. Iddisah Abdulai, a teacher from the Bole Senior High School, the Member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi Constituency Alhaji Yusif Sulemana and Hon. Shraz-deen Mahama the Health Insurance Manager for the Bole District for their support for them to executive the project.

He urged the people of the Bole District to continue supporting them to keep on transforming the District with their Community Foundation.

The student President for Community Development Foundation (CODSAG) at the Simon Diedong Dombo University for Business and Integrated Development Studies (SDD-UBIDS) on his part told Nkilgi fm that their Association realized that the present students will be the future leaders of the country. Therefore, the is the need for for these young ones to get adequate knowledge and support to be able to lead the future.

Mr Abass Alhassan added that, it was deemed necessary to support the upcoming students with the little they have.

He said, their motto is “Service to the community” so, in any little way they can support to develop the community, they must do that.

He said, a student of theirs supported the whole association with the text books and they were brought to some of the deprived communities to help their the vulnerable students.

The Assembly member for Kabilma Electoral Area Hon. Mohammed Abubakari thanked the Bole District Community Foundation LBG and the Community Development Students Association of Ghana(CODSAG) for the donation to his electoral Area.

He added that, the books donated to the Kabilma and Dakurpe cluster of schools came at the right time and the people of the two communities appreciate so much.

He said since the Ghana Education Service changed the new curriculum, the has not been text books for teachers to teach the students and so they are privileged they had the books to teach their children.

Hon. Mohammed Abubakari also encouraged parents to do all they could to get their wards to school because they are the future leaders and nothing good comes easy.

He said, we are in the modern world and all can over come poverty and other challenges when we educate our children.

He added, today there is electricity, water,and the road too is good and people can learn and become future leaders to help their parents.

Some of the community leaders told Nkilgi fm that religion is part of the problems in some of the communities and that people had inculcated into the minds of the children that if they don’t learn the Qur’an or Arabic, they will go to hell.

He added that for that reason most of the children are not serious in education like the Arabic.

He pleaded with Nkilgi fm to help them with education to help them overcome that challenge.
