Damongo born United States of America based female Disc Jockey Miss Sofo Yamoah Khadija aka DeeJay Khadi has admonished her female counterparts to go into the electronic music production especially the field of the disc jockeying.

Speaking exclusively to Bole based Nkilgi FM from New Jersey in the United States of America, DeeJay Khadi who over the weekend got employed by the Jersey City Free Public Library to teach Disc Jockeying Techniques for teens in the library said it is a dream come true.

She recounted how she had the passion but was discouraged by her peers and family way back in Ghana because of her gender with many saying that job was not meant for females.

DeeJay Khadi said she however made sure that her dream of sitting behind the Console and entertaining hundreds of people has come to pass.

DeeJay Khadi therefore urged parents especially in the Savannah Region to go into the music production by learning to be DJ’s in their young age.

She said she is so inspired by how easily the Jersey City Free Public Library kids get the hang of it and are eager to share some of their own songs during her first meeting with the them as a teacher of Disc Jockeying.

She added that the girl child are so heavily marketed with the belief that their value comes from their looks instead of the skills.

DeeJay Khadi said ladies devote a larger amount of their time to beauty and outer appearances instead of extra-curricular activities in the way that boys are able to.

She said it is far easier for girls to be marketing clothing accessories, make-ups etc than the gear to be the best Disc Jockeys they can ever be.

She described her success chalked as
her childhood passion and dream that has become a reality.

Miss Sofo Yamoah Khadija a.k.a Deejay Khadi said she moved to the United States Of America some 10 years ago and finally made sure her dream is achieved as an addition to her other activities.

She said she graduated from the Electronic music Collective of New York City where she studied Disc Jockeying and journalism.
