A Former Minister of Agriculture, Alhaji Mohammed Muniru Limuna has urged the people of the Savannah Region to take the ongoing Electoral Commission voters registration exercise very serious because it is the first step in bringing former President John Dramani Mahama back to power.
“The only weapon as a Ghanaian in deciding who rules Ghana in the December Polls is the voter identity card which can be gotten through the registration exercise currently ongoing nationwide”; he said.
Alhaji Muniru who hails from Damongo therefore appealed to especially the youth in the region to leave behind everything and comport themselves irrespective of their political affiliation and go through the due processes by following the directives given at the registration centers without hindering the work of the officials.
The former Minister of Agriculture made to these comments in an exclusive interview with Bole based Nkilgi FM shortly after going through the Registration exercise at the Damongo Police Station center on 1st July, 2020.
Alhaji Muniru said he was satisfied with the process and appealed to the people of the Savannah Region to always be patient with the process. He advised everyone to leave out partisan politics out of the process since in the near future, the number of voters compiled in the register will count in terms of development.
The former Minister of Agriculture however complained about the poor social distancing in most of the centers which is very dangerous at this particular moment that the whole world is battling the COVID-19 pandemic.
He said the overcrowding at the centers can lead to the spread of the disease but was quick to commend the people at the centre for making sure they were in their nose masks with the officials of the electoral commission ensuring the use of hand sanitisers before going through the processes.
Alhaji Muniru Limuna said the whole Ghana is yearning for the return of John Dramani Mahama and that the days of the NPP government are numbered and so the elephant will move back into the bush and will be replaced the visionary leader who is development oriented.
Registration in the Damongo Constituency recorded low turnout in the second day of the registration exercise because of a heavy downpour which lasted for hours.
