A total of 23 leading members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) have filed nomination forms to contest as Parliamentary candidates in the orphaned constituencies of NPP accross the Savannah Region of Ghana.
The Savannah Regional Research and Election Officer Mr Ayatolai Seidu released the list at the close of nominations on Saturday 3rd August, 2019 at 5:00pm.
The Bole-Bamboi constituency has four contestants and they include a youth activist Raphael Kumah Abolasom; the NPP Savannah Regional Youth Organiser Raphael Mahama Akati; the 1st Vice- Chairman of the party in the Constituency Adams Abudu Olando and the Secretary of the party in the constituency David Sei Demah.
The Damongo constituency has a Deputy Chief of Staff Samuel Abu Jinapor going unopposed.
The Daboya- Mankarigu constituency has five aspirants including a financier of the party in the Constituency Saaka Danladi; the Savannah Regional Communication Officer of the NPP Mr Mohammed Issah; a banker Bavug Abdul Latif; a CEPS Senior Officer and 2008 candidate of the party in the Constituency Alhaji Asei Mahama and the current Deputy Minister of the Savannah Region Mr Samuel Yeyu Tika.
The Salaga North constituency has three aspirants and they are a banker and Treasurer of the party in the Constituency Mr Salifu Dramani; a former Secretary of the party in the Constituency Mr Tahiru Fusheini and the DCE for North East Gonja Hon Alhassan Abdallah Iddi.
The Sawla- Tuna-Kalba constituency has five contestants and they are the Secretary of the party in the Constituency Jonathan Gilbieri; a philanthropist Mr Banasco Seidu Nuhu; the 2000 and 2004 candidate of the party in the Constituency Yussif Godwin Justice; the DCE Sawla- Tuna-Kalba Hon Lawal Tamimu and a Youth activist Bulu Lima Bruce.
The Yapei-Kusawgu constituency has five aspirants and they are and Engineer and Finance Committee Member of the party in the Constituency Adam B. Fatawu Haruna; a Senior Accountant at the National Health Insurance Scheme and financier of the party in the Constituency Abu Mahama Abudu; a former Assembly member for the Domeabra Electoral area in the constituency Asumah Lumasi Elisabeth and a Journalist Salisu Yakubu Atchulo.
The Salaga South Constituency is the only constituency in the Savannah Region being held by the NPP and the MP is the Savannah Regional Minister Hon Adam Braimah Salifu.
