The Womens Wing of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region has donated relief items to flood victims at Buipe in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region on 4th November, 2023 at a brief ceremony at Buipe.
The items include 5 bales of secondhand clothes; 7 cartons of mosquito coils; 6 cartons of bar soaps; 200 pieces of exercise books and 40 pieces of mosquito nets.
Speaking at a brief ceremony the Women’s Organiser of the NDC for the Savannah Region Hajia Afisha Bawa Doshie said they monitored the flood situation at Buipe and the destruction it brought on residents and so she and her team mobilised the relief items which she said “are not enough but will help that will ameliorate the suffering of the people”.
She said even though the items have been donated by the NDC Women’s Wing the items are for all irrespective of their political affiliations.
Hajia Afisha on behalf of the NDC Women’s wing in Savannah Region thanked all donors who made it possible for them to gather and donate the items to flood victims at Buipe.
The Savannah Regional NDC Women’s Organiser called for more support for the Buipe flood victims from all stakeholders so as to reduce their displacement and suffering.
