The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah Region Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor has on 7th August, 2023 led the Majority Northern Caucus of parliament to the residence of the King and Overlord of the Gonja Kingdom Yagbonwura Jewu Soale Bii- Kunuto (I) to pay a courtesy call on him.
In a speech read by the MP for Damongo on behalf of the he over 15 MP’s who visited the Yagbonwura Palace, said the team was in Damongo after visiting the Upper East, West and the North East Regions to canvass for votes for Vice- President Dr Mahmoud Bawumia who is seeking to lead the NPP after President Akufo Addo in 2024.
According to the Hon Abu Jinapor MP, all is set for the construction and refurbishment of the Jakpa Palace to make it conducive for the overlord to pack into and that the contractor will soon be at the site.
He also disclosed that the Damongo water project is kick starting as the contractor is moving to site with some of his materials already in Damongo.
Yagbonwura Bii- Kunuto (I) on his part thanked the Damongo MP and his team for the visit and assured him that he will always pray for him since he is young but development oriented.
