A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for the Damongo Constituency, Alhaji Issahaku Jamani also known as Chairman ECOMOG has declared his intention to contest as NDC Vice- Chairman for the Savannah Region.
Speaking after his declaration, Alhaji Issahaku said the NDC in the Savannah Region need an experienced politician like him to help lead the affairs of the party towards clinching power in 2024.
According to him, he has the experience to lead the NDC since he has been tried and tested in the region.
On when he became a member of the party, he said he has been with the NDC since 1992 and was made the Deputy Youth organiser for the Damongo Constituency in 1993 and later became the substantive youth Organiser in 1996 through to becoming the Constituency Chairman and has contributed both financially and other means towards the growing of the party not only in the constituency but the Savannah region as a whole.
He added that the name ECOMOG is a household name in the Savannah Region because of his work in the water sector across the districts in region.
Alhaji Issahaku Jamani therefore appealed to delegates across the region to vote massively for him to lead the party to victory in the region and also win back all the lost seats in the region.
Alhaji Issahaku Jamani is a farmer and a business man. In the last Savannah Region elections, he contested for the position of Chairman but lost to the incumbent Chairman.
