The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole-Bamboi, Alhaji Yussif Sulemana has in collaboration with Bole District Hospital organised a massive health screening exercise for the people of Bole District.
The first phase of the beneficiary communities include Kakiase, Mandari, Gbampe and Dakurpe.
The program which began on 8th May, 2022 forms part of the MP’s social responsibility in making sure his constituents receive quality health care.
Alhaji Yussif Sulemana who spoke to Bole based Nkilgi fm in an interview said poverty, distance, fear among other things hinder health delivery in the district. He added that although some of the communities are not far from the Bole District Hospital, the poverty level of some people does not allow them access to the hospital with refusimg referrals from the sub district clinics.
Alhaji Yussif Sulemana said diseases such as malaria, high blood pressure, diabetes, hepatitis B, HIV/ AIDS are common in the district hence the need for his constituents to know their health status.
Mr Iddisah Yussif who is a Principal Nurse at the Bole District Hospital and the team leader said the outreach program gave them the opportunity to interact, advise, provide quality health care to ordinary citizens.
Iddisah Yussif added knowing our health status gives us the advantage to change our life style. He further said as health professionals, the health status of every clients remain confidential to them and will always offer the necessary health advice.
He expressed their profound gratitude to the MP and the communities already visited for their co-operation.
The Assembly Member for the Mandari electoral area Hon Mahama Gbolo Philip expressed their satisfaction for the exercise in his oommunity. The Assemblyman encouraged all within the Bole district take part in the program.
