The Deputy Minister of Health and Member of Parliament (MP) for Daboya-Mankarigu Constituency Alhaji Mahama Asei Seini has assured the people of his constituency that the Daboya bridge would be constructed before election 2024.

According to the Daboya MP, the vice president and flagbearer of the NPP Dr Mahmoud Bawumia is working around the clock to move contractors to site to start the project.

Alhaji Asei made the disclosure on Friday 5th December 2024 in Damongo after successfully going through the vetting process to lead the constituency again as the parliamentary candidate for the 2024 general elections.

He added that the Daboya-Mankarigu road project is at a standstill following the contractor’s spending of the project cash and threatening them of court actions anytime the matter is raised.

The Daboya- Mankarigu MP added that the contractor is former President John Mahama’s brother hence the delayance in the completing the project. He assured the people of his constituency that the project will also be completed in the next few months.

Touching on health, the Deputy Minister of Health said through his efforts, the agenda 111 hospital project is ongoing and would be completed in the next 2 months. He disclosed that he has been able to build closed to 10 CHPs compounds in the area and will add more in his next election as the MP.

On his chances of re-election, the MP fir the Daboya- Mankarigu Constituency said his winning team of delegates are still at the helm of affairs and will surely maintain him since they were not changed in the last election.

Alhaji Asei Mahama said he procured motorbikes for them to do the work unopposed so he will also be given the nod to solidify the constituency as a stronghold of the NPP in the Savannah Region for future candidates to continuously defeat the NDC in subsequent elections.

The Savannah Region NPP on Friday 5th January, 2024 had a successful vetting processes for all the constituencies with sitting MPs.

In all, four aspirants from two different constituencies in the region faced the vetting committee.Among them include Samuel Yeyu Tika and Hon. Asei Mahama Seini for Daboya – Mankarigu constituency.

The rest are Fuseini Tahiru and Hon. Abdallah Iddi for Salaga North constituency.

Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor of the Damongo constituency who went unopposed for the second time was not however present for the vetting processes as his absence was explained to the committee.
