The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo Constituency and Minister in charge of Lands and Natural Resources, Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor has furnished the Busunu St Peter’s Junior High School with 100 dual desks as part of his contribution towards the improvement of the education sector in his constituency.

The 100 dual desks was on Monday 29th May 2023 handed over to the school by the Municipal Chief Executive for the West Gonja Municipal Assembly Mr Karim Musah Kusubari on behalf of the MP at a short ceremony in Busunu.

Mr Musah Kusubari in a brief speech said the Damongo MP’s attention was drawn to the lack of furniture in the school during one of his monthly tour of the constituency which he promised to within the next two weeks and through to his words, the furniture has been sent to the school by Hon. Jinapor.

He reminded them about the MP’s commitment towards education in the constituency and pleaded with them to take good care of the furniture and on behalf of the MP emphasized on the maintainance of the donated desks by the school since that has been a problem in most schools in the municipality.

Assembly member for the Busunu electoral area Hon. Dari Thomas Osman on behalf of the people of the Busunu electoral area expressed his appreciation to the MP for the Damongo Constituency in his response to the people of Busunu anytime their problems are put before him.

He said furniture had been a major problem affecting teaching and learning in the Busunu St Peter’s JHS and that it will now be a thing of the past.

On maintenance culture, the Assembly member indicated that he has taken that upon himself and that he is ready to maintain the furniture received not only in the St Peter’s Junior High School but in all schools in his electoral area

He however used the opportunity to appeal to Damongo MP to construct a 3-unit classroom block for the school since lack of classrooms in the school is also another major problem in the school.

The MCE Kusubari Musah in a response assured the Busunu Assemblyman that he will draw the MPs attention and that will also be fixed immediately.

Headmistress of the School, Madam Mary Acheampong also thanked the Damongo MP on behalf of the staff and students of the school and also promised the furniture would be put into it’s rightful usage.

Present at the short handing over ceremony of the furniture to school was the Parent Teachers Association executives of the school, the Ghana Education Service Circuit supervisor for the Busunu area and the
Damongo Constituency Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) alongside other Constituency executives.
