Settle Ghana, a Non Governmental Organisation that defends the rights of the indigenous people irrespective of their tribe, religion, race or political orientation made a presentation of 50 desk furniture to the Soma community in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba district of the Savannah Region as part of its walking together Initiative.

Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi fm, the Executive Director of Settle Ghana, Mr. Abu Karimu indicated that a lot is being done to help make life comfortable for indigenous people in the region.

Mr Karim used the opportunity to thank their partner Mole National Park for the coordination and support that is existing between Settle Ghana and the park.

He assured farmers within the Mole enclave whose farms are always destroyed by wild animals that his organization will surely come to their aid at the right time.

He appealed to the authorities of Soma D/A Primary School to take good care of the furniture. The School Management Committee of the Soma Committee thank settle Ghana for the donation and asked for for more support from the organization since the school has many other problems that needs their intervention.

The Community further made a special appeal to Settle Ghana for a special appeal to the government of Ghana to consider enacting the free Prior and informed consent (FPIC)as a national law in Ghana.

The Soma Community is not the only community that has benefited from the NGO as computers, street lights bulbs, exercise books and furniture where earlier 2022 were donated to indigeneous persons and communities across the country.
