The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah Region and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor has hinted of supporting over 5,000 women across the Damongo Constituency to enable them go into various forms of businesses.
Addressing his constituents at the newly constructed Member of Parliament’s (MP’s) office in Damongo as part of activities to mark the this years Ramadan on 20th July, 2021, Hon. Jinapor said the committee put in place to take charge of the disbursement of the fund to the women is ready and will commence it’s work in August.
He stated further that what he needs from the women and that of the constituents is prayer and total support since what he is into is unity and development.
He charged the women to make good of the cash that would be disbursed in the coming weeks since that will impact on the lives of many of them positively and reduce the level poverty in the Constituency.
The Damongo MP said the disbursement would be done devoid of discrimination of political, religious and tribal differences since he sees everybody in the Constituency as same people.
Hon Jinapor as part of his campaign during the 2020 election promised women empowerment as a major and very important aspect of tackling poverty reduction in the Constituency.
