A Dam in Sawla, capital of the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba District has overflown its banks causing serious flooding and rendering many stores in the town closed as water has entered the stores leaving store owners and some home owners clearing water from their rooms and stores and causing destruction to items used by the road contractors working on the Sawla Nakpala road.
This is as a result of heavy down pour on 7th June, 2021.
May people in Sawla have said the Dam which dried out completely during the dry season should have been dredged to avert the situation.
It is feared the dam will course more problems when the rainy season is at its peak.
