The Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo Constituency of the Savannah Region, Hon Adam Mutawakilu Garlus has donated a brand new laptop and printer with its accessories to the Local Council of Churches in Damongo in fulfilment of a promise he made to them at an end of year dinner held on 3rd January, 2020.

The donation was done by the National  Democratic Congress (NDC) Chairman for the Damongo Constituency Mr Sulemana Abdulai a.k.a Trouble with some party executive of the constituency on behalf of the Hon MP.

Speaking at a short ceremony held at the Assemblies of God Church in Damongo, on 4th May, 2020, the Constituency Organizer of the NDC, Mr Mark Iddrisu Urena said the MP made a pledge to the leadership of the Council of Local Churches when they appealed to him for a Printer and a computer during an end of year party with the MP held in Damongo last December.

He said the MP is someone who is in constant touch with the Christian community in Damongo Constituency and will do everything possible to attend to them anytime the need arises.

He went further to say that the Constituency executives of the party in Damongo will always make sure they remind the MP of all promises he made so as to work towards fulfilling them.

Receiving the items on behalf of the council, Rev Gilbert Agbefu who is the Chairman of the Council said in the very recent past, the MP has been very supportive to them. He recounted that during the Savannah Regional Thanksgiving Service held by Council of Churches in Savannah Region, the MP was one of the few politicians who contributed financially to the success of the program which was held at the Damongo Town Park with the MP sitting throughout the program from the beginning to the end.

He also commended the MP for his support for the various churches and the christian women in the constituency.

Present at the ceremony were the Damomgo Local Council of Churches Executives including the Chairman, Rev Gilbert Agbefu; Vice Chairman, Rev Jerry Mahama Bakeri; Secretary, Rev Joseph Atta Achintri; Financial Secretary, Pastor Joseph Kpadeza and Organizer, Pastor Samuel Mahama Dinkeri.

The MP for the Damongo Constituency has a long relationship with the Local Council of Churches in the area since his days as a District Chief Executive (DCE) for West Gonja and equally always receive a favourable reception from the Council of Churches and Christian Community at large in his constituency.
