The Ghana Red Cross Society Damongo branch has donated sixty (60) pieces of theatre gowns and facemasks to the Damongo Catholic Hospital.
Speaking exclusively to Bole based Nkilgi FM, Mr Mumuni M. Sumaila, West Gonja Municipal Organiser of the Ghana Red Cross Society said the donation has become necessary following the Coronavirus menace that has become a very big issue worldwide and used the opportunity to appeal to other bodies and agencies to support the especially the Savannah Region to be able to be prepared fully to fight the deadly disease.
He also appealed to the general public to make sure hand washing with detergents becomes a part and parcel of us everyday, every time and every where.
Receiving the items, the Medical Superintendent of the Damongo Catholic Hospital, Dr Saadare Anlaagmen and the West Gonja Municipal Health Director, Hajia Fuseina thanked Mr Sumaila and his team for the kind gesture and assured them of the hospital using the items for it’s intended purposes.
Hajia Fuseina also appealed to the Red Cross Society especially in the region to help in educating the the general public about the proper ways of washing hands and further sensitize them about the ways of preventing the spread of coronavirus.
