A former Chairman of the Patriotic Party (NPP) for the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah Region has advised philanthropist and the government to make sure the ‘Kayayei’ girls from urban centres arriving home goes through compulsory testing if possible quarantine for 14 days.
Nana Kwame Aboagye made the suggestion in Damongo in an exclusively interview to Bole based Nkilgi FM when some of the girls who were transiting to the Mognori- Murugu- Bawena areas artibed in Damongo the Savannah Regional capital.
He also called on all stakeholders to work hard to prevent the Coronavirus from getting to the Savannah Region because there will be massive hunger.
The former NPP Chairman for Damongo said the Savannah Region is vulnerable with many leaving on less GHc 10 a day.
Nana Kwame again used the opportunity to appeal to the Overlord of the Gonja Traditional Area Yagbonwura Tuntumba Boresa (I) to invite Municipal and District Chief Executives and the Savannah Regional Coordinating Council headed by the Savannah Regional Minister to his Palace to appeal to them seriously to make sure they the Ghana Health Service deploys Nurses to move into the Interior communities to educate and move the girls out for the testing processes since access to information is still a problem in many of the communities with many still unaware of the happenings in the country who are likely to be infected should the victims from the various test positive to the Corvid-19 disease.
The former Damongo Constituency NPP Chairman further suggested that public transport should have vehicle owners distribute free nose masks with hand sanitizers intermittently dropped in the hands of passengers till the reach their destinations.
He used the opportunity to appeal to the people of the Savannah region to make sure safety and precautionary measures are followed by all to avoid contracting and spread of the disease.
