The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area Bolewura Safo Kutuge Feso (I) has refuted claims that he has taken over all plots of land allocated to individuals during the reign of Bolewura Amankwah Gbeadese and Bolewura Awuladese Pontonprong.
The Bolewura clarified that what the letter he issued meant is that, people with plots land from the time of Bolewura Gbeadese and Pontonprong are required as a matter of urgency to submit their land documents to the new Lands Allocation Committee chaired by Adam Seidu (Wagazi) for review and validation. He said the new policy will allow individuals who have acquired plots of land to know if someone has encroached on their lands or even try to illegally take over the said plots of land.
Many people have expressed concerns about plots of land that have been acquired for up to 50 years in Bole town without developing them. Others have also complained about individuals taking so many plots of land at a go without developing them which is against the laws on land acquisition. Worse of it some unscrupulous people have made photocopies of land documents and backdated them to claim new plots of land or claim plots of land that do not belong them.
The Bolewura earlier on 5th December, 2019 issued a letter that said that all lands acquired but unused from the reign of Bolewura Seidu Amankwa Gbeadese (1994 to 2013) to Bolewura Mahama Awuladese Pontonprong (2013 to 2018) returns to the allodial owner (Bolewura Safo Kutuge Feso and the Land owners) and these include lands within Bole township and outside the Bole township.
The letter also stated that the present Bole Lands allocation committee has also been desolved with immediate effect 5th December, 2019.
This has generated much debate with some of the Bolewura’s staunch supporters coming out publicly to speak against what they thought was the seizing of plots of land allocates to them.
