A 20 year old girl whose name has been withheld is currently battling for her life at the St Anne’s Catholic hospital in Damongo after she decided to end it all after taking a container full of a weedicide popularly known as “Condemn” following the boyfriend’s threat to finally draw the curtain on their relationship.
The lady who hails from Techiman in the Bono East region, according to an eyewitness said the incident occurred following a misunderstanding with the boyfriend, who allegedly threatened to end their relationship.
The two, who have been living together in Yagbon Residential Area (Yagbonkura), a suburb of Damongo, had a very everyday misunderstanding type of relationship, as it is an open secret that the lady loves to always push the man for sex anytime the opportunity presents itself.
The boyfriend, a native of the Yagbon residential area in Damongo, who had previously relocated to Techiman in search of better opportunities brought the young woman to Damongo as conditions never materialised positively in Techiman.
However, hospital officials were tight-lipped about the matter, citing the need to seek consent from the patient’s family due to patient rights laws.
The young woman is currently receiving treatment at the female ward of the hospital.
The incident has raised concerns in Damongo as it has become the topic for discussion with many wondering why someone will take her life because of the denial of sex by her boyfriend.
Meanwhile, authorities of the hospital have refused to comment on the issue. We will monitor to bring up to date the condition of the lady as she is still receiving treatment.
