A New Patriotic Party (NPP) Activist from Damongo by name Sibeko Hermas Rampa has incurred the wrath of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for comparing Kpasenkpe in the North East Region which is the hometown of the mother of Vice-President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, to Busunu in the Savannah Region which is the hometown of the mother of former President John Dramani Mahama.

Alongside photos of one of NPP governments six new Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) schools at Kpasenkpe he wrote on Facebook; “This is not a university, this is STEM SHS At Kpasenkpe Dr Bawumia’s mother’s hometown like Busunu the hometown of Mr Mahama. The only time I got disappointed in Mr Mahama is today, I think Gonjaland deserves the best from Mr Mahama.
Dr Bawumia I’m proud of you as a northerner, God bless you”.

This did not sit down with dozens of NDC members who challenged him on development at Busunu under former President John Dramani Mahama.

Issifu Seidu Kudus Gbeadese replied; “Before the coming of Mahama, Busunu has no lights, no modern market, no road passing through Busunu, no better school structure. Today as we speak, Busunu has lights courtesy John Mahama, it has a modern market, it has a tarred road leading to and exiting Busunu, there is a school complex, among others. Can you please tell us what Hila Liman, a Sisala President did for his hometown? Between a school complex and electricity, a reasonable man will choose electricity. I want to also put it on record that but for your wicked govt Busunu should have one of the E-blocks by now”.

One Apiu Beberto also wrote; “Sibeko Hermas Rampa Even if John Mahama turned Gonjaland into Dubai, ungrateful hearts would still find fault in him. If you really travelled the Sawla Fufulso road prior to John Mahama becoming a vice President and subsequently President you will appreciate the huge infrastructural gap HE John Mahama covered in Gonjaland with the African Development bank Loan Project (Fufulso to Sawla road, Fufulso Health Centre, Larabanga Health Centre, Fufulso Water project, Basic school infrastructure at Bonyanto, Mempeasem, Jonokponto, Busunu, Achubunyor, West Gonja Hospital face lift, Damongo Lorry station. Damongo and Busunu markets etc. These are legacies of JM but a heart which is programmed to be ungrateful won’t aknowlegde this emmence contribution”.

Yussif Borelewura Abdulai wrote;
“It will be hypocritical to say you’re disappointed in JM. He’s nolonger in power so speak to those in power now, if really you care. He did his part as President, unless you want to tell me he did nothing as a president in Gonjaland.
I expected you to call on the current political forces we’ve in Gonjaland to lobby for such developmental projects but you chose the blame tactics to exonerate the current regime.
Are you telling me without JM the current set of Gonjaland politicians we’ve in power can’t bring anything of this sort to the region?
When JM was in power there was no STEM schools, this is an idea of the current regime, hence, if you’re not a hypocrite call on them to build one in Gonjaland and stop the narrative you’re trying to put out”.

The General Manager of Bole based Nkilgi Fm Mahama Haruna also wrote; “These are the posts some of us won’t take. John Dramani Mahama has done a lot for Busunu as explained by others. He is currently establishing the biggest live stock farm in Northern Ghana at Busunu. Meanwhile I challenge you to tell me one thing you have done for Tumu where you come from”.
