Over 800 residents of Achubunyor and its environs in the West Gonja municipality of the Savannah Region on 13th October, 2023 benefited from a free health screening exercise by the Naada Jinapor Foundation, a non-profit making organisation that provides basic healthcare for the vulnerable in the society, especially women children.

Patrons were screened for Malaria, Acute Respiratory Tract Infections, Arthritis,Hypertension, Urinary Tract Infections, Hernia, Menstrual disorders, among others where the beneficiaries were given free medication, while those identified with complications were referred to appropriate health facility for further diagnosis and care with the foundation taking care of the bills.

Founder of the Naada Jinapor Foundation who is also the wife of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo Constituency, Mrs. Naada Jinapor indicated that it has become necessary for the foundation to give back to the society especially women and children since health is wealth.

She indicated that her foundation has the vulnerable at heart and will do everything possible to always bring health care to their doorsteps.

Mrs Naada Jinapor added that the Damongo constituency gave the husband, Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor who doubles as the Minister for Lands and Natural Resources and herself the mandate and therefore the need to bring healthcare to the door steps of the people in the constituency and beyond.

She indicated further that her foundation is not only associated to the Damongo constituency but works in other parts of Ghana, and hopes to cover more areas in future.

Mrs Jinapor said.
“Our focus now will be primarily children’s health and children’s nutrition, because we feel that children are the future and we have to take care of them”.

Hon. Kipo Yakubu, assemblyman for the Achubunyor electoral area on behalf of the people of his electoral area thanked the Naada Jinapor foundation for the free health screening.

He mentioned that the Damongo Constituency member of Parliament has been of great help to his electoral area by way of the construction of health facilities, donation of health equipment, the Economic empowerment of women among others.

He said the health screening exercise put together by the wife of the MP apart from what she has also done towards the development of the area is an indication of the love of Madam Naada and her husband for the people of the Achubunyor electoral area and called for more of such exercises for the people of his electoral area since health is everything.

Some of the beneficiaries of the health screening exercise expressed their joy and appreciation to the foundation and indicated that Hon.Samuel Abu Jinapor and his wife are ”God-sent to them” who are doing very well to change their lives especially women in the constituency.

The Naada Jinapor Foundation has over the years engaged in health screening exercises in the Damongo constituency in the Savannah Region and other parts of the Bono Region including the provision of potable drinking water and distribution of sanitary pads to female students and planting of trees.

The foundation in 2022 covered the costs of breast cancer surgery and medical bills for some two patients, one from Damongo in the Savannah Region and one from Krabonso in the Bono East Region of Ghana.
