A member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Bole-Bamboi constituency of Savannah Region Mr Richard Abdulai Kaara (RAK) has declared his intent to contest for the parliamentary primaries of the forthcoming NDC parliamentary primaries.
Speaking to media during the declaration of his intention to contest, Mr Richard Abdulai Kaara (RAK) said he has consultant the rank and file of the party in the constituency and was given the greenlight and blessings of the party hierarchy to vie for the candidature of the NDC in the parliamentary primaries.
Mr Richard Abdulai Kaara (RAK) said the contest is an internal battle which whoever is chosen to lead the party in the constituency, is the decision of the party and that goes nowhere because they are all one and has to come together and forge ahead to winning both parliamentary and presidential massively for NDC in the 2024 general election in the constituency and Ghana at large.
He added that he has done a lot for the party but need not to mention anything like that because internal elections is a brotherhood contest and one need not to say “I have done this for the party after all is a house battle”
MR Kaara added that he has supported the party alot in most of the party activities and in the grassroot mobilization and the party reorganization.
He said he was part of the former president John Dramani Mahama’s campaign team during his days as member of Parliament for Bole-Bamboi constituency though he was small but was very active and has learnt alot.
Mr Richard Abdulai Kaara said he has not come to contest because he thinks someone has not performed well or is not doing, but since 4th republic, all the MP’s who came did their part and others also continued.
He said he has been committed to NDC and is still committed to seeing the NDC win power in both the presidential and parliamentary elections.
He said he never thought of even vying for a position one day in NDC but said since the inception of the 4th republic, Mahama Jeduah was the first MP and John Dramani Mahama took over from him and after John Dramani Mahama, Hon. Joseph Saaka Akati took over from John Dramani Mahama and then Hon. Alhaji Yusif Sulemana came and took over from him and till date. So he has come to also do his part and definitely if he is declared victorious, someone will also take over from him one day.
Mr Richard Abdulai Kaara said so telling people what you have done for the party because you want to lead may look as if those who have no intention of leading one day should not support today.
He thanked all the branch executives in the constituency and promised them if given the nod, he will not disappoint them.
