The Bole branch of Tailors and Dressmakers Association held its second graduation ceremony at Bole in the Savannah region at the weekend.
The ceremony saw fourteen(14) apprentices graduating successfully with certificates after completing their course of training from eight(8) different Trainers and Masters.
Addressing the graduands, the Upper West Regional Chairman of the Garment Association, who doubles as the National Treasurer Mr Damba Abdul Rahman, encouraged the graduands to embrace the profession with all the seriousness that it needs. He advised them to discourage the habit of using apprentice in their homes for house chores since some of them might end up having affairs with their husbands.
Damba Abdul Rahman further said he was happy to be from Bole even though Wa is trying so hard to own him.
He finally admonished the graduands to continue to respect their trainers for the betterment of their future success. He said; “as we enter the yuletide season tailors and hairdressers must be truthful to their customers always.”
Meanwhile the branch Chairperson of the Association in Bole, Madam Alhassan Masata thanked everyone for honoring their invitation. She said, for the first time, tailors and hairdressers use the Internet to access their results, a situation she was very proud of.
She encouraged all members of the Association to continue to support their leaders for a successful future.
The Member of Parliament (MP)
for Bole-Bamboi constituency, Alhaji Yusif Suleman through his personal Spokesperson, Mr. Iddisah Tahiru Omega and some Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presented a cash amount of GHc1,000 to the Association and also assured them that the next NDC government will work hand in hand with the association in terms of contracts execution.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) was represented by the Constituency Secretary, Mr Mahama Shiraz Deen who also presented who an undisclosed amount of money to the association and assured them that, the US Dollar- Ghana Cedi ratio will come down completely for the system to work again soon.
