A philanthropist, engineer and consultant, Mr Emmanuel Yakubu Suglo has donated over nineteen thousand Ghana cedis (GHc 19,000) to for the drilling, mechanization and distribution of water in Tuna Township.
Mr Emmanuel Yakubu Suglo popularly called “Aben wo Aha” made payment to Jamas Company Ltd in Tuna amounting to Thirteen Thousand Ghana Cedis ( GHC13,000) and also payment for the maintenance service was equally effected to the Tuna Water and Sanitation board for plumbing materials and other services amounting to Six Thousand Two Hundred and Twenty-five Ghana Cedis (GHc6,225).
Global Communities, Ghana acting on behalf of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) financially supported the Construction of a Small Town Water Supply System in Tuna, Sawla-Tuna-Kalba which was towards the provision of WASH facilities in Ghana. This project needed some maintenance, which is currently funded by Mr Emmanuel Suglo.
The manager of Tuna Small Town Water supply System, Mr. Dongu Tokoro Justice received the money on behalf of Tuna Community for this maintenance work.
Drilling of the borehole and installation are almost done awaiting commissioning.
Some members of the community who were at that short ceremony were very excited and indicated that it could help solve the water challenges Tuna is facing.
Emmanuel Yakubu Suglo will soon launch a foundation to tackle education and health.
Mr Suglo earlier some few years ago donated computers to Tuna Senior High Tech school.
The Philanthropist within the shortest possible time has plans to extend some of his philantropic deeds in Sawla and other communities in the Sawla-Tuna-Tuna district.
