A controversy between the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over which party procured an Ambulance for the people of Mankarigu in the North Gonja District (Daboya-Mankarigu Constituency) of the Savannah Region has led to supporters of the Member of Parliament (MP) for the area Lawyer Shaibu Mahama Obei branding the Ambulance with his images.

The controversy started after the Communication Director of the NPP for the Daboya-Mankarigu Constituency Saaka Lukman on 21st May, 2020 issued a statement congratulating and and thanking Nana Akuffo- Addo’s NPP government for procurement of an Ambulance for the people of the Mankarigu zone of the District.

“The Daboya/Mankarigu Constituency has taken delivery of another Ambulance, by default the funding came through the NHIA fixed GHc60,000.00 annual advancement to all constituencies in the country to undertake health projects”; he said.

Saaka Lukman also called on the good people of the area to keep faith with President Akuffo Addo’s government in delivering on its social mandate.

This did not go down well with the NDC in the area who in a counter statement said the desperate attempt to decieve the good people of the constituency into believing that “your ‘try me too’ candidate has been maintaining the water system when in fact he has never contributed a dime should be enough” adding; “the true owner of the Ambulance has taken and branded his thing. You can blindfold some of the people some time but you can’t do that to all the people all the time”.

The statement futher said; “Insha Allah, the Ambulance has been branded in the MP Obei’s name and shall be presented to the good people of Mankarigu zone”.
