Jaksally Development Organization has raised concerns over the continuous destruction of women’s livelihood by charcoal and rosewood dealers across the Northern part of the country.
According to the organization, almost all the economic trees that serve as a source of livelihood and food mostly for the vulnerable in society, especially women, have been destroyed by charcoal burners.
Commemorating this year’s Mother day, celebration the Program Coordinator of the organization Jeremiah Seidu bemoaned the hypocrisy of men, government officials, traditional authorities to be celebrating mothers but have failed to protect their livelihoods.
He mentioned shea, Dawa-Dawa as most affected economic trees.
Jeremiah also bemoaned unfair prices in shea which he said is lower as compared to cashew, cocoa, and the rest in Ghana.
He said 100% women are into shea farming and therefore called on the government to pay attention to it.
As we celebrate Mother’s day today, a day dedicated to honoring motherhood and womanhood as a whole, we want to establish that men and women were created the same. Men and women are both custodians of the earth. So if we men who are pretending to wish our mothers happy mothers today while we are busy seriously and violently destroying the same woman we pretend to celebrate, what hypocrisy”!
The woman was created as a partner or companion comparable to Man. Man and woman both worked in the same workplace, the Garden of Eden. This means the same pay for equal work.
“Why are we still not giving women-mothers equal workplace and equal pay by paying more to cashew farmers who are 90% men and paying less to shea and Dawa Dawa processors/farmers who are 100% percent women? And we pretend and say that their crop is grown wild, not cultivated”

Happy Mother’s day to all womanhood and motherhood- all mothers and our women the creators of life.
We make this call to raise the issue of the threat to women’s livelihoods, environmental and food security in honor of Mother’s day, MY celebration to my mother (late), and all mothers.
Form the Holy book Genesis 2:23, And Adam said; this is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman because she was taken out of man.
Now the man who said this is destroying the woman through her livelihood by threatening the extinction of the woman roots, the environment.

Sorry, they are created like the woman and man! Why are we silent on the destruction of what is ongoing when we have all the evidence that shea trees are being destroyed and we pretend in conference and meetings and durbars talking and paying lips services to make women better. Whiles in such conferences they women are not present. If it is for us, it has to be with us. Without us women then it is not for us!
Eve or Hawa means mother of all creation sustainer or nurturers of life.
Motherhood is a calling, it is redemptive. So if we are celebrating our mothers today, then for their creation let’s not destroy the creator. For sustainability, they are already sustainers let’s give them the opportunity to sustain the environment. They are nurturers of life, why don’t we honor them by protecting shea trees, the environment, and the ecosystem so they can nature it for us-life.
My wish to my late mother and all mothers toady will only be completed when we declare today as a white elephant day of pretense to protect and honor womanhood whiles we destroy her’s the environment-nature-sustainer, comforter, companion giver of life-the WOMAN- the MOTHER!
I call on all today, who are celebrating motherhood and our mothers to call for an emergency and an ecosystem security threat to WOMEN and MOTHERHOOD declared in the savannah ecological zone and act to reverse it.
I am sure with this action in practice my mother in her eternity will praise her creator who did not make a mistake by creating her as bone of My Late Father, the comforter, companionship provider, the nurturer of life, the sustainers and mothers of all creation you and me
