Catholic German friends of Busunu in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region have donated Personal Protective Equipments (PPE’s) to the Busunu Health Centre.

A total cost of about Eighteen thousand Ghana cedis (GH₵18,000) worth of clinical equipments and PPE’s were presented to the Busunu Health Centre which comprised of hand washing containers, nose and face masks, gowns, gallons of liquid soap and bleach, disposable tissue papers, wellington boots, disposable gloves, gallons of hand sanitizers and disinfectants, a sterilization machine and other items.

Funding for the purchase of the items came from the Busunu Catholic Mission friends (Eva Schlattmann and others) based in Germany.

Rev. Fr. Anyereeh Lazarus, Parish Priest of Busunu St. Peters Catholic Church, who presented the items on behalf of the German friends at brief ceremony said the Catholic partners who visited the community somewhere in 2014 had first hand information about the challenges facing the Busunu health facility and saw the need to help equip the Health facility which they refer to as their second home.

He said they found it very necessary especially during this moment of the deadly COVID-19 pandemic to assist the Busunu Health centre.

“They are glad to make this donation to their ‘second home’ and therefore wish that, these items and equipments are maintained to last till the future”; Fr Lazurus said.

The Assemblyman for Busunu Electoral Area Hon. Dari Osman Thomas, who received the items on behalf of the people of Busunu, expressed profound gratitude to the German friends for their support.

He said the Germans have done enough for the people of Busunu which can never be estimated and praised them for the good work than since his community is very grateful to them.
