The Savannah Region of Ghana has recorded a total of 34 cases of the COVID-19 34 New comparing 18 from Salaga in the East Gonja Municipality and 16 from Buipe in the Central Gonja District.
This was disclosed today 16th June, 2020 by the Director General of the Ghana Health Service Dr. Patrick Kumah-Aboagye at a press briefing in Accra on COVID-19 cases in Ghana.
Dr Patrick said the new cases were recorded in 9 regions with the Ashanti leading with 70 cases.
Central region followed with additional 42 cases and Savannah region with 34 cases shooting up by 229 new cases in the country bringing the national tally to 12,193.
Meanwhile, four more persons, three men and a woman, have died of the virus taking the coronavirus death toll to 58.
Many are calling for mass testing of tertiary students in the Savannah Region as schools have reopened.
