President John Dramani Mahama, accompanied by his brother Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, recently hosted the Savannah Regional Minister along with all Municipal and District Chief Executives from the Savannah Region at his farm in Busunu in the West Gonja Municipality of.the Savannah Region.






The gathering coincided with the celebration of Eid-ul-Adha in many parts of the region, providing an opportune moment for reflection and dialogue.
The meeting focused on discussing development initiatives pertinent to the Savannah Region.
The Savannah Regional Minister and Municipal and District Chief Executives were taken through several sections of the farm, where they observed ongoing agricultural projects and innovations being implemented to boost productivity and sustainability.
Following the tour, President John Dramani Mahama held a closed-door meeting with the Savannah Regional Minister and the Municipal and District Chief Executives of the Savannah Region to discuss a comprehensive development agenda for the Savannah Region during this four years of his tenure.
President John Dramani Mahama outlined strategic plans aimed at transforming the region through infrastructural development, job creation, agriculture, education, and health initiatives.
President Mahama emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts between government officials and local stakeholders to drive sustainable development. He also highlighted agriculture as a key sector for economic growth, referencing his own engagement in farming activities at Busunu as a testament to this commitment.

In an interactive session President Mahama invited the Municipal and District Chief Executives to share the pressing challenges facing their respective Municipalites and districts and issues discussed included poor road networks, limited access to potable water, inadequate health facilities, and youth unemployment.

The day’s activities continued with a visit to Yapei in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region, where President Mahama led his entourage to his animal farm.
