The Savannah Regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has received a generous donation of GH¢86,000 from Ghanaians in the diaspora who are sympathizers of the party. The contribution, described as a “widow’s mite,” is aimed at bolstering the party’s campaign efforts in the region.

The presentation was made in Bamboi following a campaign address by the NDC’s National Chairman, Hon. Johnson Asiedu Nketiah.

Speaking on behalf of the group, Dr. Sheriff Adam, the Director of Foreign Relations of NDC for the Savannah Region, emphasized the importance of their support in the party’s drive to reclaim power in the upcoming elections.

“This contribution is a testament to our belief in the leadership of His Excellency John Dramani Mahama and the vision of the NDC to rescue Ghana from the economic quagmire created by the Akufo-Addo-Bawumia administration,” Dr. Adam stated. He was assisted in the presentation by Mr. Awudu Sannie.

Dr. Adam did not mince words in his criticism of the current government, describing its management of the economy as a “monumental failure.” He added, “Under this administration, Ghanaians have endured unprecedented hardship, rising cost of living, and a collapse of key sectors of the economy. It is time for a reset, and John Mahama remains the only leader with the experience, vision, and integrity to restore Ghana’s dignity.”

He further urged residents of the Savannah Region to vote overwhelmingly for John Dramani Mahama and all NDC parliamentary candidates, stating, “Our agenda for a 24-hour economy will create jobs, stabilize the cedi, and provide opportunities for every Ghanaian. The people of Savannah Region must lead the charge in ushering in a new era of hope and prosperity.”

The donation, Dr. Adam noted, is part of a broader effort by NDC supporters in the diaspora to strengthen the party’s activities ahead of the 2024 elections.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the Savannah Region NDC Secretariat, Alhaji Imoro Seidu aka Man Blessing thanked the diasporans for the generous contribution adding that it will go a long way to help them deliver on the imperatives of their campaign.
