The Paramount Chief of the Sonyo Traditional area of Gonja, Sonyowura Kanyiti (I) has expressed his appreciation to former President John Dramani Mahama and the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency Alhaji Yusif Sulemana for their efforts in reshaping the Bole to Sonyo road and also providing the traditional area with 5 Boreholes and 5 motorbikes.
Sonyowura Kanyiti made these remarks in a statement read on his behalf by his secretary Mr Bakari Barnabas on the occasion of his 2024 Damba celebration in Sonyo on Sunday 6th October, 2024.
The Sonyowura who is also the Traditional Vice-President of the Gonja Traditional Council said he and the people of Sonyo and it’s environs will forever be grateful to former president John Dramani Mahama and his brother Alhaji Yusif Sulemana for their efforts in reshaping the Bole to Sonyo road prior to this year’s Damba celebration.
He said it drastically eased the difficulties motorists experience in accessing Sonyo.
He added; “Also, my Chiefs and I are grateful to them for providing 5 Boreholes and 5 motorbikes to the traditional area”.
