The Paramount Chief of the Wasipe Traditional Area of Gonja Wasipewura Kabagsaya Mumuni Anyame (II) has assured the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) former President John Dramani Mahama of total support and confidence in his leadership.

The Wasipewura whose speech was read by a sub- Chief Tandawura Alhaji Mohammed Amin when former President John Dramani Mahama visited his Palace at Daboya on Sunday, 6th October 2024 said; “We assure you of our total support and confidence in your leadership” adding; “We look forward to your swearing-in on January 7, 2025 and thank you for your unwavering commitment to our community’s progress”.

Wasipewura Kabagsaya Mumuni Anyame (II) further said it was an honour to welcome former President John Dramani Mahama back home to the Savannah Region and to the Wasipe Palace.

He added; “As a native son of this great region, born in Damongo , your roots run deep here, and we’re delighted to host you as part of your campaign tour ahead of the December 2024 elections”.

The Wasipewura further said; “As you interact with the people of this region, I urge you to listen to their concerns and share your vision for Ghana’s progress. Your commitment to social justice and sustainable economy resonates deeply with our community. We recognize your efforts in promoting unity and peace, values that are dear to our hearts. Your message of hope and inclusivity has inspired many, and we look forward to hearing more about your plans for our great nation”.

The Paramount Chief of the Wasipe Traditional Area also said; “As you engage with our people, remember that we are a community built on resilience, hospitality, and a strong sense of solidarity and we are eager to collaborate with leaders who prioritize our well-being and development.

He stated; “Your familiarity with our region’s challenges and opportunities will undoubtedly serve as a strong foundation for meaningful dialogue.

Wasipewura Kabagsaya Mumuni Anyame (II) added; “At this juncture Your Excellency, we would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate your remarkable achievements in our Traditional Area. Your contributions have transformed our community, and we are grateful for your dedication.

Notable achievements according to the Paramount Chief of the Wasipe Traditional Area include Creation of North Gonja District and Daboya Mankarigu Constituency; Construction and completion of E-Block Daboya Community SHS; Bridging the Tachali River that connected our area to the rest of the country

Other remarkable achievements in the Traditional Area that the Paramount Chief mentioned include Rural electrification under the SHEP II Project; Construction of Daboya Busunu Highway and Daboya to Mankarigu roads; Building numerous chip compounds and Establishing Wasipe SHS, now Savannah College of Education.

The Wasipewura said; “As we look to the future, we humbly request your consideration for the following developments which are Bridging the White Volta to enhance connectivity with neighboring districts; Upgrading district roads, particularly tarred roads; Boarding facilities for Daboya Community SHS; Conversion of the Daboya College of Education to public institution; Improved telecommunication networks and appointment of Hon. Lawyer Mahama Shaibu Obei to your government”.

Speaking at the Wasipe-wura’s on the 2nd day of his 2-Day tour of the Savannah Region, the flagbearer of the NDC former President John Dramani Mahama urged the people of Daboya-Mankargu Constituency to vote for him to continue the Busunu-Daboya-Mankargu road as that road is very dear to his heart.

He promised to continue from where he stopped on the abandoned road which he was constructing before he left power in 2017.

John Dramani Mahama also said he will make sure the agenda 111 hospital abandoned by the NPP government in the Daboya-Mankargu Constituency is completed.

Former President John Dramani Mahama added that the road leading to Tachale in the constituency is also in his diary and that will work on it when he wins power in the forthcoming election.

He urged the Chiefs ans people of Wasipe Traditional Area to support the NDC parliamentary candidate Alhaji Lawywe Obei Shaibu.
