The Paramount chief of the Buipe Traditional Area and President of the Buipe Traditional Council, Buipewura Abdulai Jinapor (II)
has on Thursday 26th September 2024 commissioned an ultra-modern community centre for the people of Buipe.

The facility which is named after late Buipewura Chinchanko, was commissioned
as part of Buipewura’s activities marking the 2024 edition of Buipe Damba Festival (BUDAFEST).

Buipewura Jinapor (II) in an address during the commissioning, said he reconstructed the facility to meet the increase in the population of the people of Buipe, driven by the need for a larger, more accommodating venue for social events in the Buipe community.

The previous community centre according to him was smaller in size to meet the growing needs of the people, adding that the new facility is designed to host a variety of events, including graduation ceremony of artisans,tailors and hairdressers,naming ceremonies and weddings to reflects Buipe’s modern development.

Buipewura Jinapor (II) said; “I drive often through town and see people struggling to host their programs in cramped spaces, with the opening of the Chinchanko Community Centre, they can hold their events in a more convenient, well-equipped space”.

The Paramount Chief of the Buipe Traditional Area emphasized that although the project was funded from his personal resources, the centre belongs to the entire community. He further announced plans to add catering services to enhance the centre’s functionality.

He expressed his gratitude to his Council of Chiefs for their guidance and support in bringing the project to fruition.

The new centre is fully furnished with chairs, canopies, and sound systems, providing a complete package for community events.

Apart from the community centre, Buipewura Jinapor (II) had also completed the construction of an accommodation block for the Buipe Senior High School, further demonstrating his commitment to the development of the Buipe town.
