The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge-Feso (I) has approved a letter from the Chief Imam of Bole Traditional Area Alhaji Mohammed Iddrisu.
The letter signed by the Chief Imam of Bole and addressed to the the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area titled; “Proposal for Three Eid in Bole Township” stated; “After consultation with Stakeholders of the Muslim Community in Bole, it is proposed that three more Eid grounds will be opened in Bole for now besides a Central Eid Ground to be led by Bole Chief Imam.
The letter from Bole Chief Imam dated 13th April, 2024 further said; “This is because of the congestion at the current Eid grounds on the Gbenfu road as a result of massive population growth in Bole Township.
According to the Chief Imam of Bole there has been consultations over the past one year and “We therefore wish to put this proposal before you as the Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area for your endorsement”.
The letter from.the Chief Imam of Bole proposed four Eid grounds in Bole Township.
It stated; “In accordnace to the laid down Islamic traditions of Bole, I as the Chief Imam of Bole and my Elders will be responsible for appointing Leaders for all the Eid Grounds in Bole”.
A follow-up letter signed by Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) dated 15th April, 2024 and copied to the Chief Imam of Bole and the Bole District Police Commander stated that; “The President of the Bole Traditional Council, Yiram Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge-Feso (I) in consultation with the Council of Elders have approved three additional Eid-Prayer Grounds making a total of Four Eid-Prayer centres in Bole township effective today 15th day of April, 2024”.
The letter further said; “This decision became neccesary following population growth of the Islamic community in Bole and several calls from stakeholders to create additional space for Eid Prayers”.
The letter from Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge Feso (I) approved the St. Kizito “A” Primary School Park as the Central and Traditional Eid ground and the others being an Eid Ground at Gbenfu road Eid-Prayer ground, the Kurabaso D/A Primary School Park and the Bole D/A Junior High School Park.
The letter further stated that; “In accordance with the laid down Islamic traditional practices of Bole, the Chief Imam is responsible for appointing Muslim Clerics to lead in all the four Eid Centres in consultation with the Islamic Council of Bole”.
The Paramount Chief of the Bole Traditional Area Bolewura Sarfo Kutuge-Feso (I) advised the general public and the Islamic community for that matter to comply with the directives of the Bole traditional Council in the interest of peace and tranquility.
