The Assemblyman for the Yelwa Electoral Area in Bole town Hon Adams Dramani Deen has been elected as the Presiding Member for the Bole District Assembly on 12th February, 2024 after polling 35 ‘Yes’ votes and 4 ‘No’ votes.
After the inauguration of the Hon Members of the Bole District Assembly, the first election could not produce a Presiding Member as Hon. Adam Dramani Deen (Bole Yelwa Assembly member) polled 25 votes while Hon. David Bii. Jimah (Teselma Assembly member) polled 14 votes.
The Bole District Assembly has 39 Assembly members plus the District Chief Executive (DCE) and the Member of Parliament (MP), meaning Hon Deen was short of 3 votes to win since two- thirds majority of 41 votes was needed to elect a Presiding Member.
However Hon. David Bii Jimah dropped when it was set for the second round and asked that Hon Adams Dramani Deen be be elected unopposed.
But by the rules of electing a Presiding Member of District Assemblies, members voted ‘Yes’ Or ‘No’ for Hon Adams Dramani Deen, which election he won overwhelmingly.
Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi Fm after he was elected as Presiding Member, Hon Adams Dramani Deen promised to work for the interest all Assembly members and the people of the Bole District thanked voters in his Electoral Area, the Hon Assembly members of the Bole District Assembly, and all Heads of Departments of he Bole District, the DCE for Bole Madam Veronica Alele Heming and the MP Hon Alhaji Yusif Sulemana.
He said the Presiding Member position is not a position of privilege but a position of responsibility that requires that they all put aside their individual interests , groups but put first the interest of Bole District Assembly to bring positive development.
Hon Adams Dramani Deen added that; “the key responsibility and desire of every Assembly member is to see development and so the development of Bole matters to us and my leadership is a leadership for all so I therefore call Assembly members and stakeholders of the Bole District Assembly to support, to share ideas and to contribute so that together we can provide the desired development that Bole needs”.
Delivering her speech before the inauguration of the Assembly membes for the Bole District Assembly, Madam Veronica Alele Heming used the opportunity to congratulate all the Elected a
Assembly Members for winning the district level election in their respective electoral areas.
She said it was an honour done them to serve in the highest office as Assembly man or woman.
Madam Veronica Alele Heming also charged all the Assembly members to work diligently to help the Assembly achieve all the goals and ambition to better the lives of the people they represent.
She said the Assembly Members are agents of development, mouth piece of the people of their electoral areas.
The Bole DCE also tasked the Assembly members to serve as agents of positive change by working closely with their Unit Committees, local government and Area Councils to mobilize resources for the development of the people.
She urged the Assembly members to work effectively with the Bole District Assembly, stakeholders and other development partners.
In a related story, the MP for the Bole-Bamboi Constituency Alhaji Yussif Sulemana has extended hi Congratulations to the newly sworn-in Presiding member for the
Bole district assembly (Hon Adams Dramani Deen) and all other members who took their oath of
office on 12th February, 2024″.
The MP in a statement said said; “I wish you all success as you serve your various communities and work towards their
development and prosperity”.
He added that; “As a member of the house, I urge you to collaborate with one another and leadership to
make the Bole district assembly a case study in the country”.
