The Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor has donated food items worth thousands of Ghana cedis to the Redemption Orphanage home in Damongo as part of activities marking his 40th birthday.
The food items included 40 bags of Maize, 40 bags of Rice, 40 creates of Soft drinks, 4 boxes of Omo, 4 boxes of Key Soap, 40 packs of toilet rolls, 4 boxes of biscuit and 4 boxes of Tin Tomatoes.
The MP for the Damongo Constituency Hon. Samuel Jinapor last week celebrated his 40th birthday anniversary and has since decided to extend his support to the Damongo based Orphanage home as part of activities marking the day.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for West Gonja Municipal Assembly, Hon Musah Karim Kusubari who donated the items on behalf of the Member of Parliament in a speech at the forecourt of the orphanage said that the good books including the Bible and the Quran always talks about remembering orphans at all times.
He said orphans at all times needs the support,love and care of everybody hence the member of parliament and his family who has been friends with the inmates of the orphanage finds it very necessary to remember them in a special occasion like his birthday and promised on behalf of the MP to always come to the aid of the kids anytime the need arises.
Mr Kusubari disclosed that Hon Jinapor has promised to construct a mechanised borehole at the Redemption Orphanage Home to provide portable drinking water for the inmates.
The MCE was accompanied by the Constituency deputy Organizer Alhaji Rambo, Constituency Communication Director Mr. Iddrisu Laminu and Mr. Bawa Fuseini, Coordinator for the MPs office in Damongo to donate the items to the home.
The Proprietor and Caretaker of the Redemption Orphanage Home, Pastor Abraham Lermu Saaka who received the items on behalf of the kids thanked the Damongo MP for that gesture and prayed for him and his family for the kind donation done to support the orphanage.
According to him, when one helps to feed one orphan for a day, the reward is as huge as a ‘Mountain’ and so for helping to feed over 200 orphans with for months, only God knows how the reward is going to be.
He said; “We are grateful to you Honourable MP and the Orphans will Continue to pray with you day and night and you shall never lack and may you grow higher in your political and human life”.
