The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo Constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor has taken up the full cost of transportation for students of Damongo Senior High School and Ndewura Jakpa Senior High School within his constituency that will be going home for the Easter break.
The beneficiary students included Students from the Murugu, Mognori, Kananto, Kabampe, Larabanga, Busunu, Langatere, Bidima, Achubunyor and Jonokponto Communities all in the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah Region.
In all about eight (8) buses were hired kind courtesy Hon. Jinapor to transport the students to their various communities.
Speaking before the large crowd of students who had gathered in front of the vehicles, the Damongo Constituecy Chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Adam Braimah on behalf of the MP said he leadership of the student unions of the various communities in the two schools made an appeal to the MP through his office to help convey them home during the Easter break which he is fulfilling by hiring the vehicles for them.
Chairman Alhaji Adams in his presentation advised them to also take their studies very seriously as they go home so that they don’t forget what they have learnt and would be happy to see them back in school safely when school resumes.
Master Hussein Alidu, a final year student of the Damongo Senior High School who spoke on behalf of his colleagues thanked Hon Abu Jinapor for his support and indicated that the entire student body is grateful for what he has done to support them since many of them started calling their parents for lorry fares which the response doesn’t seem good from home.
He said, ”Me for instance, when I told my mother that Lawyer Abu Jinapor payed for our transportation cost, she was happy and said God will continue to bless and protect him for us, I believe it’s same with many of my colleague”.
Miss Adams Fulera, a female student from the Busunu area also added her voice in thanking the MP and remarked that; “We shall Communicate to our mothers the good works and such a kindhearted MP we have, we will always ask our parents to remember to pray for the vulnerable MP for his good works, extend our heartfelt gratitude to him”.
