Former President John Dramani Mahama has described the late Lepowura MND Jawula as a brother who was very closed to him despite his political affiliation with the NPP.

He said the late Lepowura was an advisor, a counselor and an elder brother who used to visit regularly visit him at the flagstaff house when he was the President of Ghana.

He mentioned that the late Alhaji Jawula was denied a position under the NPP because he was perceived to be very closed to him which he readily told them that; ”if it is because of John Mahama that he will be denied a position then he is fine with that”; he added describing him as a loyal and principled person to his friends and family.

Former President Mahama also mentioned that the Ghana Black Stars under the chairmanship of Alhaji Jawula as the chairman of the Ghana Football Association performed wonders but today, the football association is not what it was known to be including Tamale based Real Tamale United (RTU).

Former President Mahama made a donation of a Bull, bag of rice, cooking oil, bag of maize and cassava and
500 bags of cement for the construction of library to be built in Kpembe in the name of the late Lepowura MND Jawula including a cash amount of GHc10,000 to the family.

The Family of the late Lepowura was full of gratitude and appreciation to former President Mahama and the entourage for the love and support shown at this sad moment of family.

Former President John Dramani Mahama later joined the Memeber of Parliament (MP) for Salaga South constituency, Hon Hajia Zuwera Ibrahimah to commission a Six unit classroom block with an office built solely by her at Bagabaga community in the Salaga South constituency. Former President John Mahama planted a tree in front of the school to loud cheers and applause from the school children and their parents.

Meanwhile, former President Mahama is expected in Damongo later today for the 3 day adua of the overlord of the Gonja Kingdom Yagbonwura Boresa Tuntumba (I).
