A non governmental organisation Enhancing Lives on Boxing Day 26th December, 2020 donated some items to the children at the Sawla Children’s Home to celebrate this years Christmas.
The Founder and Executive Director of Jaksally Development”- organisation Mr Jeremiah Seidu donated the items on behalf of Enhancing Lives at a brief ceremony at the premisesnof the Sawla childrens home to the care takers. The items include two bags of rice, five crates of eggs, a 5 liter can of oil, a pack of tin tomatoes, a box of key soap bar, two packs of chicken, two packs of sanitary pads, a pack of chocolim (Milo), a box of pure delight milk cream (biscuit), a box of fresh lemon luxury bar soap and ten crates of soft drinks.
Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi FM said the Christmas season is meant for sharing and so Enhancing Lives decided to extend their assistance to the Sawla Children’s Home. He said philanthropists, Chiefs, organisations, families, individuals and so on can also share with the orphans instead of throwing away left over food.
Mr Seidu further said prominent people such as Paramount chiefs can set a lead for the rest to follow by making donation to the Sawla Children’s Home.
Mr Seidu shared his life experience with the children and explained how he took his destiny into his hands by age thirteen because his grandmother who took care of him died. He promised to continue supporting the children and also pledged to assist the tertiary leavers students of the children’s home to do internship in his office without charges or payment but to equip them with a lot of skills and experience.
The manager and father of the Sawla Children’s Home Pastor Emmanuel received the donation and thanked Enhancing Lives and Jaksally Development Organisation for remembering them during this Christmas.
He said many individuals have since been supporting them but they still need more help to sustain and maintain the home for the benefit of the children and their future welfare.
Mr Emmanuel entreated on philanthropists to always help but not necessarily on only Christmas period.
Seidu Ibrahim of the Sawla Children’s home on behalf of his colleagues expressed their thanks to the donors and called on individuals to always come to their aid, which will better their lives as they live as orphans.
