The Independent Parliamentary candidate in the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah Region Mr David Tiki Dange has solicited for assistance from the Norwegian People’s Aid (NPA) to support Persons Living With Disabilities (PLWD) in the Damongo Constituency of the Savannah region.
Speaking at a meeting with over 300 of the people living with disabilities in Damongo last week, Mr Tiki Dange said the support he solicited from the Norwegian People’s Aid will help them in providing employment since many of them are unemployed which is very important since
that will lead to the improvement in their living condition.
He said the vocational training for them will also enable them acquire skills that are relevant to the current labour market demands with resources and start up capital readily provided for them to make sure the business is sustained.
Mr Dange further assured them of several support in the pipeline for the entire Savannah Region which he is working on but wants to kick start the project in Damongo since that is the capital of the of the region. The program is expected to kick start anytime soon with the funding agencies including a representation from the Norwegian embassy meeting the association of persons living with disabilities in Damongo anytime soon.
Mr Takora Joshua Dramani, President of the Persons Living Wit Disabilities (PLWD) in the Savannah Region on behalf of the association thanked Mr Tiki Dange for always having them in mind and also thinking about them interms of their welfare.
He recounted the numerous number of times he met with them and the several donations he made to them especially in the wake of the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic where he handed over to them nose masks, hand sanitizers etc.
He used the opportunity to assure him of the association’s support since he has more concern for them.
