The Member of Parliament (MP) for Daboya-Mankarigu Constituency and Deputy Health Minister Hon. Alhaji Mahama Asei Seini has been sidelined in the 3rd inauguration ceremony of Assembly members for the the North Gonja District Assembly.
Speaking to Bole based Nkilgi Fm, Sidik Jabaru John (JJ) who is the Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for the Daboya-Mankarigu constituency explained that the presence of the MP who is an automatic member of the District Assembly was very important in the 3rd inaugural session of the assembly members which took place in Daboya on the 12th of February, 2024.
He said; “However, it has been noticed that he was absent during the ceremony, investigations have revealed that, the District Chief Executive Hon. Adams Eliasu Alias Red Bawa has hijacked the whole ceremony, thereby sidelining the member of parliament who he is at loggerheads with because according to him, his business as a politician is not booming under the auspices of Hon. Alhaji Asei hence decided to throw his weight behind Hon. Alhaji Asei’s contender Mr. Samuel Tika Yeyu”.
Sidik Jabaru John (JJ) further said prior to the NPP parliamentary elections, delegations were sent to Hon. Bawa Eliasu (Red Bawa) to try reconciling him and Hon. Alhaji Asei, however, Hon. Adams Eliasu bluntly told the delegation that he sees politics as a business adventure and throws his support to the highest bidder”.
Mr Jabaru further said; “Shockingly, the Hon. DCE has forgotten like a person suffering from retrograde amnesia how Hon. Alhaji Asei amidst all odds stood by him in his bid to become the DCE of the John Mahama created North Gonja District”.
He said; “We in the NDC will like to remind the Hon. DCE that politics should be used to bring positive development in the lives of individuals and the district and not as a business adventure” adding; “It’s important for the Hon. DCE Adams Eliasu Red Bawa to involve all stakeholders irrespective of their diversity in political ideologies so that progress can be attained in the district”.
The Daboya-Mankarigu NDC Communication Officer said; “The Hon. Member of Parliament Hon. Alhaji Mahama Asei Seini still has until 7th January, 2025 to hand over to Hon. Alhaji Lawyer Shaibu Mahama Obei, hence he should be given the necessary recognition and respect as the representative of the constituency in the respected house of parliament”.
