A popular outspoken resident of the Bole District in the Savannah region, Mr. Kassim Abdulai Nelly has described the reluctance and charlatan attitude of the NPP’s government and the leadership of the savannah region headed by the Regional Minister, Mr Saeed Jibril in fixing the d
Doli bridge as nauseating.
In a write-up copied to Bole based Nkilgi Fm on 19th December, 2023, Mr. Kassim Abdulai Nelly said despite the bridge’s significance as a vital link between southern Ghana and the Upper West Region, it remains unrepaired since its destruction months ago due to heavy rain.
He said, calls from the public, including youth and Chiefs of the Savannah Region urging immediate action have been ignored and despite extravagant spending on a helicopter and a convoy of V8’s to the site, the Doli bridge has been left neglected, posing a danger to commuters on the Wenchi-Wa Road.
Kassim Abdulai Nelly said,
the National Democrat Congress (NDC) in the Savannah Region has rightly criticized the temporary measures taken, emphasising the lack of technical reasoning.
He further said that, it is essential for the Regional Minister Mr Saeed Jibril to prioritize a thorough and well-reasoned approach to the road diversion at the Doli bridge, ensuring adherence to protocols and technical standards.
Kassim Abdulai Nelly added that, neglecting these aspects may compromise the safety and well-being of commuters on that stretch of road, a situation which demands urgent attention from the Regional Minister Mr Saeed Muhazu Jibril.
