A total of 793 residents of Yipala and it’s adjoining communities in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region have benefited from a free health screening exercise by the Naada Jinapor Foundation.
The exercise formed part of a corporate social responsibility of the foundation to give back to the society especially children and the vulnerable.
Speaking to the media during the exercise on Friday 22nd December, 2023, Mrs Naada Jinapor, founder of the Naada Jinapor foundation, a not-for-profit organization indicated that the goal of the Foundation is to make available, quality health care to the less privileged in society and indicated further that the exercise is an opening for many more activities to happen in every area of the Damongo constituency.
Mrs Naada Jinapor who is the wife of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Damongo further stated that her Foundation intends to extend the outreach to other communities as it has done in the past.
Mrs Naada Jinapor explained that; ”One crucial focus of the Naada Jinapor Foundation is, a healthy, fit and productive population”.
Mrs. Naada Jinapor thanked the Chiefs and people of the area for the opportunity given to her husband to serve them and added that she is very happy to see the number of people who have lined up for the exercise.
She used the opportunity also to call for the renewal of the husband’s mandate in 2024 since the people can testify his good works after he become their MP.
The exercise that saw a massive turn out of residents in the area, was carried out by a medical team who screened patrons including children on pediatric conditions, skin conditions and other general health conditions.
Those with more serious conditions such as eye problems, high blood sugar and high blood pressure were referred to the hospitals for treatment with the foundation taking up the cost.
Many of the beneficiaries of the exercise were grateful for the opportunity offered them and thanked the Naada Jinapor foundation for their commitment in ensuring good health for them.
The Naada Jinapor foundation in collaboration with the office of the MP has over the years held similar screening exercises in parts of the Damongo constituency including Damongo, Larabanga, Busunu and Achubunyor.
In 2022, the Naada Jinapor Foundation covered the costs of breast cancer surgery and medical bills for two patients, one from Damongo in the Savannah Region and one from Krabonso in the Bono East Region of Ghana after the medical team discovered positive cases in approximately 21 women from both towns, with two cases scheduled for surgery due to the extent of the damage.
