The Pure Trust Foundation LBG has commissioned and handed over a Teachers Quarters at Abasomakura to the Bole District Ghana Education Service (GES) Directorate.

The event took place at Abasomakura Community on the 7th of December, 2023.

Madam Ruhaimatu Yazidu reading the speech on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pure Trust Foundation LBG Mr Habib Haruna said, education is a vital cornerstone of progress and teachers are the architects of its foundation and this marks a significant moment of journey as an organization that is passionate on promoting quality education and contributing to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goal 4 SDG4) which is about quality education and among the 17 Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in September 2015.

The CEO of Pure Trust Foundation LBG Mr Habib Haruna said, the construction of the teachers quarters is a confirmation and a testament of Pure Trust’s commitment as an organization to promote quality education by providing a conducive environment for teachers since they play a pivotal role in shaping young minds who are the leaders of the future.

He said, “Therefore, as we unveil this building, let us recognize it as a shared achievement of the collaborating partners: PureTrust Foundation, Vibrant Village Foundation, the community, teachers and pupils. We acknowledge the contribution that the community made towards the realization of the project. The community donated land, labor for the foundation, water and others.”

On behalf of the CEO, Madam Ruhaimatu Yazidu
used the opportunity to appeal to the government through the Bole District Assembly and to all other development partners to prioritize the need to provide a Junior High School for Abasomakura to serve the community and its surrounding communities,

She said; “This can be done by constructing a new six-unit classroom block which as primary school block,renovate and convert the current three-unit primary school block to become a Junior High School block Also, it is important to make the school a smart school by providing ICT facilities for the school. This will provide opportunity for the children in this resource challenged area to familiarize themselves with current technology to be able to move along with the rest of the world.”

She further appealed to the GES through the District Director of Education to post at least one female teacher to the school.

Madam Ruhaimatu on behalf of the CEO of Pure Trust said; “I would like to extend my warmest appreciation to VVF, our funding partner for this project. This teachers quarters is not just a place for teahers to stay, rather, it is an investment into the education and the lives of the children of Abasomakura and beyond. Therefore, community members the teachers who will occupy it, Bole District Assembly and the Ghana Education Service are encouraged to adopt good maintenance culture towards the teachers quarters so that it can be sustained to achieve the desired purpose.”

Acknowledging the significance of the teachers quartets Mr. Thompson Abu Sumani who represented the Bole District Education Director conveyed the profound gratitude of the Bole District GES. He
highlighted the positive impact that the generosity of Pure Trust Organizations will have on the community.

Thompson Abu Sumani said; “Today is a very memorable day and it is a day that will go into the archives of GES, because Abasomakura Community has suffered for too long in the respective of teachers accommodation. The community has lost a number of teachers due to accommodation problem. If you post a teacher to a community that there is no accomodation, you can’t force the teacher to stay”

He added that; “We at the Ghana
Education Service are very grateful for this project at a time when we most need it. I task the teachers to put the facility into good especially with it’s maintenance culture.”

Mr. Adams Habib the Bole District Coordinating Director on behalf of the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole said, the District was grateful to Pure Trust LBG and recognises the very important role the organizations is playing in the District in terms of educational infrastructure and development which is highly recommendable.

He said, Education is a social economic activity which requires shared responsibilities from stakeholders in order to impact positive knowledge to students who will eventually become the future leaders of the community.

He encouraged the teachers to make good use of the facility and as well maintain the quarters to benefit all in the Abasomakura community.

Meanwhile at the occasion, the Chief of Abasomakura Community pleaded with Government and other stakeholders to still support them. He said, Government with the District Assembly and the Education Directorate must please add their community School to the School feeding program.”

The Abasomakura Chief also urged parents to motivate their wards to go to school to be educated for a better future.
