The new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Northern Development Authority (NDA), Lawyer Sule Sambian has disclosed to the people of the Savannah Region that his outfit has 78 projects ongoing in the region.

Speaking in Damongo on 16th May, 2023, during a regional stakeholder engagement on the NDA’s medium term development strategy 2023-2027, Lawyer Sambian indicated that all the districts in the Savannah Region has projects running under the support of NDA and stated further that the NDA was created by law with the mandate of Providing a Framework for the Comprehensive, Integrated and Long-term Development of the Northern Sector.

Lawyer Sambian gave the assurance of his commitment to carry to the latter, the vision for the establishment of the authority by making sure the dented image of the Northern Development Authority over the years is restored.

The Deputy CEO of Projects of the NDA Mr Iddi Zakariah said theh decided to visit the reguons of the North to familiarize themselves with theie projects. He said the NDA’s medium term development strategy 2023-2027 plan was introduced to stakeholders at the West Gonja Municipal Assembly.

The Savannah Region Minister Mr Saeed Jibril Muhazu in a speech during the stakeholder engagement with heads of departments in the various government sectors across the Savannah Region mentioned that the northern sector has seen under development for a very long time leading to the creation of the NDA which is a catalyst to breach the gap between the north and the South and believes that the new Northern Development Authority boss will do all that is needed to change the status quo.

The Director of affairs for cooperate affairs and international relations of the NDA, Mr Sam Danse took participants through a presentation on medium term development strategy 2023-2027 involving education, agriculture,security etc where the participants and stakeholders made contributions and further asked questions for clarity which were clearly answered by Mr Sam Danse.

The CEO and his team joined by two of his deputies including the Savannah Region Minister later commissioned the completed Damongo ambulance service office in Damongo and a 6-unit administration block for the Larabanga Islamic Senior School in Larabanga all funded by NDA.

Earlier, the team paid a courtesy call on the King and Overlord of Gonja, Yagbonwura Bii-Kunuto Jewu Soale (I) to seek for his blessings as the team embarks on their activities in the region.
