The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Damongo Constituency and Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Hon. Samuel Abu Jinapor has disclosed that there is no Constituency in Ghana including that of the President that has seen more of the youth gaining employment opportunities than the Damongo Constituency in the Savannah Region.
Speaking during the commissioning of a three hundred (300) sitting capacity ultramodern community center in Damongo the Savannah Regional capital on 14th May, 2023, the Damongo MP said he made 5 major promises to the constituents prior to the 2020 parliamentary elections including the construction of a modern and befitting Community Center for the people which he is happy to be commissioning two years into office as the MP for the Constituency.
Hon Jinapor touted his achievements in the education sector, mentioning the donation of vehicles to the Damongo Senior High School and the Ghana Education Service office respectively and disclosed that in the next two (2) weeks, he will be presenting a pickup vehicle to the Ndewura Jakpa Senior High School in Damongo.
The MP for Damongo assured the people that systematically, he will make sure he fulfills all that he promised the people including sectors in education, agriculture, women empowerment and also make sure majority of the youth are employed.
He mentioned how agricultural inputs are presented free of charge to farmers during every farming season to boost agriculture in the Constituency.
Hon Abu Jinapor reminded the people that the flag of Damongo has been lifted in Ghana’s Parliament and he is proud to be made the first cabinet minister as an MP in the Damongo Constituency.
Water, according to the Damongo MP is also set to flow soon in the Constituency as he is doing his best to solve that perennial problem once and for all for his people.
The Savannah Region Minister Saeed Jibril Muhazu praised the Hon Samuel Abu Jinapor for all that he is doing to change the narrative of politics in the region and added his voice to assure residents within Damongo and it’s environs that water will flow soon in Damongo and charged the people to retain Hon.Abu Jinapor to do more for them.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for West Gonja Municipal Assembly, Mr Musa Karim Kusubari has reminded the people of the Damongo Constituency that the Damongo community center which has been an issue long ago was on several occasions failed to materialise with his own father being part of soliciting for funds in building it and therefore a big dream come true as the community is being commissioned.
The Community Center which is fixed with chairs has a car park, an outdoor event area and an area for future expansion can be used for all kinds of activities in the region.
Meanwhile the Communication and digitalisation minister Mrs Ursula Owusu Ekufful who had earlier used the facility even before it’s commissioning for the Girls In ICT program in the Savannah Region with 1000 girls across the Savannah Region partaking in the program described the Damongo Constituency MP as very hard working who will continue to transform Damongo and must be retained to lead the constituency.
