The National Democratic Congress (NDC), in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency of the Savannah Region has debunked assertions in a
write up issued by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) suggesting a defection of a one Mr Nuhu Adams popularly known as Mboma to the NPP.
A write up from the Communication Bureau of the NDC in Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency and copied to Bole based Nkilgi Fm indicates that, the NPP is “deliberately peddling falsehoods and a blatant misappropriation of facts regarding the said defection of Mr Nuhu Adams”.
According to the NDC, per their investigations,
Mr Nuhu Adams was never a registered voter in Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency and hence has no vote in the Constituency. But rather a registered voter in Bole Bamboi Constituency.
The statement from the NDC also said; “Therefore, if there is any reason to jubilate, then it is the Bole- Bamboi Constituency NPP and not the NPP in Sawla-Tuna-Kalba”.
The party therefore appealed to the good people of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency to disregard such a baseless allegation and it should be treated with the contempt it deserves as the NDC
takes strong exceptions to such fallacious write-ups by the NPP.
The Sawla-Tuna-Kalba NDC further said the claim that Mr Nuhu Adams was pressurized to step-down in the last NDC’s Constituency elections is yet another red-herring because per the NDC’s checks, Mr Nuhu Adams only designed a flyer prior to the close of nominations for the constituency Executive elections but never filed and the reason for his failure to file were purely personal, coupled with the fact that; “one must be a registered voter from a branch within the constituency”.
The Statement from the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba NDC also stated that, “the NDC is an all inclusive social democratic party, that embraces diverse kind of members from all walks of life without any form of discrimination, hence the party will never stop any qualified member from participating in a contest, such as that of the constituency elections”.
The NDC in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency said any digressional tactics to favour the NPP government will fall flat in gutters because unfortunately for the NPP, the pains, agony, suffering and the engulfing economic woes caused by their government still lingered in the minds of all Ghanaians including the good constituents of Sawla-Tuna-Kalba Constituency, who will never forget the unprecedented excruciating hardship they are going through under this super incompetent NPP government.
A member of the NDC in the Sawla-Tuna-Kalba constituency reportedly defected to the NPP .
His defection was witnessed by sone constituency and Regional executives of the NPP at a short event at Sawla on Tuesday, 18th April, 2022.
A statement signed by NPP the Communication Officer of the NPP for the Savannah region Mr. Frederick Tahiru said, “this is one of many recent defections from the NDC to the NPP, and more are expected in the coming weeks and months as the government is currently focused on accelerating human and infrastructural development across the country as it recovers from the global pandemic”.
