A 32 year old nurse at the Kpasera CHPS Compound near Mpaha Health in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region whose name has been given as Atinga Aniyiri David, has committed suicide.
The Assembly member for the Kpasera Electoral Area Japo Mohammed who confirmed the incident to Bole based Nkilgi FM said the deceased was seen by some residents hanging on a tree with a rope tied to his neck behind the facility.
He indicated further that medical incharge of the Kpasera facility and one other staff were not at post when the incident happened.
He added that the deceased is a native of Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region who has worked at the Mpaha Health Center before being transferred to Kpasera CHPS Compound some two years ago.
Hon Japo said he was in the farm when a resident rushed to inform him about the incident which he later made a formal complain to the Mpaha Divisional Police.
The body has since been transported to the Damongo Catholic Hospital for autopsy and preservation whilst investigation is ongoing.
