Five suspects have been arrested and kept in the custody of the Savannah Regional Police Command at Damongo following the killing of the 90- year old woman at Kafaba in the East Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region.

The five were arrested today 29th July, 2020 and handed over to the Savannah Regional Police Command by a special team from Accra comprising of men from the Criminal investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in collaboration with Police at the East Gonja Municipality.

The suspects are representatives of a New Patriotic Party (NPP) youth group at Kafaba.

The suspects were interrogated with their statements taken and have been kept in the custody pending further investigations.

They will be arranged before the Bole Magistrate court in the course of the week.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Kafaba, Yahaya Zakariah has been granted bail after the five were arrested and brought to the regional police command.

Initial reports from Kafaba indicates the Chief was behind the famous soothsayer’s entry into the Kafaba community but it was later revealed to the media that an NPP Youth group at Kafaba was responsible for inviting the famous soothsayer who led the lynching of the 90- year old woman Madam Akua Denteh over the burning of their party shed in Kafaba.

A Sub- Chief of Kafaba who spoke to Nkilgi FM said the soothsayer was brought into the community at the blind side of Kafabawura who only heard of the death of the old lady when a Police Van had come in for the body of the deceased old lady.
