Curfew imposed on Bole relaxedThe Ministry of the Interior has on the advise of the Savannah Regional Security Council and by Executive Instrument reviewed the curfew hours imposed on Bole Township and its environs in the Savannah Region from 8:00 p.m to 5:00a.m to 10:00p.m to 4:00a.m effective, yesterday, 31st July, 2019.

A statement issued and signed by the Minister of Interior Hon Ambrose Dery said the review is as a result of the improved security situation, coupled with genuine desire of the people to sustain the peaceful atmosphere currently prevailing in Bole.

The statement said Government continues to urge Chiefs, Elders, Opinion Leaders, Youth and people of the area to exercise restraint in the face of the challenges confronting them as well as to use non-violent means to channel their energies into ensuring peace in the area.

The Minister of Interior said there is a total ban on all persons in the afore-mentioned communities and its environs from carrying arms, ammunition or any offensive weapon and any persons found with any arms or ammunition will be arrested and prosecuted.

Meanwhile the Bole Youth for Peace and Development has on behalf of the good people of Bole, chiefs and elders and on their own behalf extend their profound gratitude to the Minister for Interior, the Regional Security Council (REGSEC), Savannah Region and the Bole District Security Committee (DISEC) for reviewing the curfew hours from 8:00pm to 5:00am to 10:00pm to 4:00am.
